Christopher E. Lisle

PRESIDENT - As the founder and president of Avanti Development Partners, Mr. Lisle provides extensive experience in the fields of construction, finance and design. He assists clients in every stage of the development process, from acquisition and pre-development to project entitlement and construction. 

Previously, Chris served as both an employee and consultant for The Irvine Company. As a consultant, he provided project management services to the Irvine Company during the construction of a 125,000 square foot lifestyle center and the major re-imaging of a 50,000 square foot neighborhood center. Chris worked alongside the owner and the project team during the design, entitlement and construction processes, where he gained invaluable experience in complex urban development.

Prior to this, Chris held the title of Senior Development Analyst for the Irvine Company in Northern California. There he provided support and analysis during the construction of over 6,000 luxury multifamily units. His team collaborated with the company's project managers to ensure that projects remained on budget and properly funded throughout their entire life cycle.

After graduating from USD with a degree in Economics and Real Estate, Chris joined the London Group Realty Advisors as an Investment Analyst. There he conducted market research and feasibility studies for various real estate product types and provided strategic recommendations for the company’s clients. 

A proud alumnus of the University of San Diego, Mr. Lisle regularly advises undergraduates on careers in the Real Estate industry. He has been invited to guest lecture at his alma matter and at the University of Southern California, regarding land economics, project underwriting and market research.

Bob Lisle

PRINCIPAL - As a founder of Avanti Development Partners, Mr. Lisle provides over 35 years of experience in the fields of development management, construction and design. He assists clients in every stage of the development process, from acquisition and pre-development, through design, project entitlement and construction.

A graduate of the Southern California Institute of Architecture, and a licensed architect, Bob’s career has been defined by landmark projects. With a depth of experience ranging from civic projects to luxury hospitality and retail, his portfolio includes;

Miramar Fairmont Hotel, Santa Monica, CA - $55 mm rehabilitation and expansion

Los Angeles City Hall, Los Angeles, CA - $273 mm seismic rehabilitation and historic restoration

Hotel Del Coronado, Coronado, CA - $55 mm seismic rehabilitation and historic restoration

Standard Hotel, Los Angeles, CA - $30 mm Adaptive reuse

Palomar Hotel, San Diego, CA - $87 mm ground-up development

Irvine Company Retail Projects, Various Locations, CA - Over $500 million in ground-up and reinvestment

In his most recent role, Bob led the retail development and construction efforts of the Irvine Company in both Northern and Southern California. Under his guidance, the development team completed over $500 million in ground up, reinvestment and tenant driven projects. This included major expansion and re-imaging programs for both Fashion Island and the Irvine Spectrum Center, as well as the development of neighborhood centers.

Bob lectures on construction management for the Masters in Real Estate program at the University of San Diego and is an active participant in the Urban Land Institute and International Council of Shopping Centers.

 

Marc Potash

PRINCIPAL, HOSPITALITY - With a focus on hotel management, development, and consulting, Marc brings a depth of experience to Avanti. Utilizing strong connections throughout the hotel industry including with the major brands, lenders, design, and construction partners, Marc is at the forefront of where hospitality needs to go.

Having worked with branded and independent hotels at all class levels throughout North America, Marc has participated in every aspect of the hotel real estate lifecycle including acquisition, disposition, day-to-day operations, repositioning, ground-up development, renovations, finance, and solicitation of equity and debt. He has provided advisory services for over $1 billion in assets and he grew his last company from 4 to 25 hotels and doubled revenue while increasing profit 160% in one year. With a keen insight into the unique aspects of hotels as an asset class, Marc easily straddles between taking care of team members for increased operations productivity, thus increasing asset value, with the needs and visions of hotel stakeholders. 

Marc’s consulting work has included projects for local hoteliers seeking better insight into operational efficiencies, large multinationals seeking a foothold into the US market, and working with developers to analyze and assess opportunities. His unique perspective into hospitality was recognized by Lodging Magazine when he was named to the prestigious group of Top 50 Thought Leaders and Breakout Stars in Hospitality in November 2016.

Giving back to the community is of keen importance to Marc. When not spending time with his family, Marc can often be found engaged with his charitable work serving on non-profit boards or lecturing in hotel real estate, development, and finance most recently at UC San Diego and Cal State San Marcos.
